Design

The E-Class is a beautiful car. It has a low profile and a sleek exterior design that perfectly complements the power of the engine sets. The interior strikes that same balance of luxury indulgence and performance. It's practical but fun, and it is designed well to accommodate all of the technology. It won't take long to learn the layout, and it will quickly become second nature. Tech

The tech on the E-Class is extensive. Smartphone connectivity, USB ports, a large touchscreen, heads-up display, rain-sensing windshield wipers, wireless charging, Wi-Fi-- just about anything you can think of is available or standard on the car. Whats a nice change from other luxury cars is that more or less all of the features, options, and packages are part of the first trim. The upper trims just add performance changes. So you don't need to go any further than the base to get access to all of the tech.

Safety

Safety is a major point of strength for the E-Class. Mercedes-Benz has made sure to add several innovative safety tech features to their most recent models that you won't find anywhere else. For example, the C-Class has a feature called Car to X that lets other cars with the feature send signals back and forth about road conditions. It can help you automatically swerve around obstacles and then come back to the original lane, it can automatically and safely change lanes, it can match your speed to the local speed limit, and it has a very long list of sensors and signaling mechanisms to inform you about surrounding traffic.

Trims

The E-Class has four trims. As mentioned above, the base trim has access to all of the features and options except for some special performance ones. The three upgrade trims are all branded "AMG®" to indicate their performance-oriented nature. Each one is linked to one of the AMG® upgrade engines. However, the E-Class also has four body styles-- sedan, coupe, convertible, and wagon. The base trim is compatible with the sedan style. The first AMG® trim, the E 450, is compatible with any style. The second trim, the E 53, is compatible with the sedan, coupe, and convertible. Lastly, the E 63 S is compatible with the sedan and wagon.

The E-Class is a wonderful example of the luxury small car genre. It has an elegant design with great tech and some really advanced safety features. What really sets it apart is the AMG® line of trims and engines, which totally change how the car feels. The base engine is good, but the AMG® models are in another world.
