Performance

The base engine for the C-Class is a turbo-four rated for 255 horsepower. It is powerful and comes with a smooth automatic transmission with nine speeds. There's a special set of upgrade engines, one for each of the three AMG performance trims. The first one is a 385-horsepower turbo-six, the second is a turbocharged V8 rated for 469 horsepower, and the third is that engine retuned for 503 horsepower. The AMG engines have incredible power along with specially modified transmissions to handle the advanced gear shifting. Each one is a truly amazing experience that completely transforms how the C-Class feels. It turns from a luxury car into a sports car with a luxury interior for Jacksonville, IL and Decatur, IL drivers.

Design

The C-Class is a beautiful car. The fierce lines and attractive look of the exterior are inviting, and the interior has the comfort and style to suit the performance. This is not a sedate, heavy interior, but one that is comfortable for a car built to go fast. The dashboard layout is easy to read and use, and it looks cutting-edge and slick. The rear seats are just as nice as the front row, so it isn't just the driver who gets the luxury experience.

Tech

For tech, virtually all of the standard and optional features are available on the base trim because the upper trims are primarily focused on performance. The C-Class has a large 10.25-inch touchscreen, smartphone connectivity, USB ports for charging devices, its Wi-Fi hotspot, and HD radio. There's plenty of entertainment and convenience upgrades, particularly for the sound system.

Safety

The C-Class has some of the best safety features in its class. It includes a lot of standard safety technology like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking. There's some advanced touches like crosswind assist and automatic lane shifting with speed limit recognition, too. The Mercedes-Benz Pre-Sense will tighten up the seat belts if it senses a collision is about to happen. Evasive steering assist can help you swerve away from sudden obstacles and then automatically return to the lane you were in. All of these features are new, and many of them aren't available even as options on other cars.

Trims

There are four trims for the C-Class. Their organization is a bit unusual. Instead of being a steady progression of added features, the base trim has just about all the core features. The next three are AMG-branded trims that are built around the upgraded engines. They also have a slew of special options for performance, like performance seats and controls, to help you take full advantage of that performance experience. In order, those trims are the AMG C 43, with the 385-horsepower V6, the AMG C 63, with the 469-horsepower V8, and the AMG C 63 S, with the 503-horsepower V8.

The C-Class is an outstanding luxury car. The design is impeccable, and the inclusion of all of those unique safety tech features is something special that sets the C-Class apart. Both the coupe and sedan configurations feel great to drive and ride. If you want to unlock the full potential of the C-Class, however, you need to get an AMG trim. The AMG line cuts across many different Mercedes-Benz vehicles, where it always denotes dedicated performance trims with tremendous power and a selection of extra performance features.
