Mercedes-Benz Electric Vehicle Owners Can Now Access Tesla's Supercharger Network
February 24 2025 - Gary Mollohan

Mercedes-Benz drivers in the U.S. can now access over 20,000 Tesla Superchargers, expanding the Mercedes me Charge network to over 140,000 charging stations nationwide. Owners will be able to view Tesla Superchargers on their vehicle's map and in the app, which displays availability and pricing information. They can effortlessly connect to the chargers and process payment automatically for their charging sessions. Additionally, Superchargers will be integrated into the Navigation with Electric Intelligence, offering optimized and efficient routing, including charging stops.

Mercedes-Benz EV owners will benefit from "Plug & Charge" features at Tesla Superchargers, enabling charging sessions to start automatically when plugged in, with payments processed seamlessly in the background at the end of charging. A free software update for compatible vehicles will be provided by authorized Mercedes-Benz dealerships to ensure the efficient operation of the Plug & Charge feature at Tesla Superchargers. Affected customers will be contacted directly to arrange their software update.

To support current Mercedes-Benz EV drivers with CCS1-compatible charging ports, the company will introduce a Mercedes-Benz approved NACS to CCS1 DC fast charging adapter. This adapter will enable existing vehicles to charge at Tesla Superchargers and will be available for purchase from authorized Mercedes-Benz dealerships in the U.S. for $185 in Q1 2025. Customers will receive notifications when the adapters are available. This NACS to CCS1 adapter is the only one that has been tested and certified for safety and compatibility with all Mercedes-Benz BEVs and any NACS DC fast charging point.

Beginning in 2025, Mercedes-Benz will start to integrate NACS ports into its new electric vehicle offerings in North America. This change will allow future Mercedes-Benz models to connect directly to any NACS DC fast charging point without needing an adapter, enhancing the charging experience for customers.
