Mercedes-Benz is enhancing the S-Class for the 2025 model year with many improvements. The new model features conditionally automated driving capabilities at higher speeds, a wider selection of color tones and materials for greater personalization, and an even more intuitive infotainment system that better responds to user needs. Drive Pilot
The current S Class sets new benchmarks in conditionally automated driving for the luxury segment. Drive Pilot can take over driving tasks on some U.S. highways under certain conditions. Previously, this was limited to speeds of up to 37 mph in traffic congestion. Now, Drive Pilot can operate at speeds of up to 59 mph in regular traffic flow, following a vehicle ahead in the right-hand lane. This allows customers to drive in conditionally automated mode more frequently and for extended periods, making better use of their time on the road.

Upgraded MBUX
Mercedes-Benz is elevating the digital experience in the S‑Class by introducing a range of new features for the MBUX infotainment system, all accessible through over-the-air updates. These enhancements improve navigation, expand the capabilities of the AI-driven voice assistant, and add new digital functionalities, resulting in a smarter and more intuitive driving experience.

A particularly notable addition is the incorporation of ChatGPT into the voice assistant through the Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service. This development enhances voice interaction, allowing drivers to obtain accurate, real-time answers to various questions via Microsoft Bing while keeping their hands on the wheel. Moreover, it facilitates smooth engagement with conversational history, enabling follow-up questions and ongoing dialogue.
